John Mulcahy concentrates his practice in civil litigation. He has experience in appellate, bankruptcy, commercial, environmental, health care, insurance, intellectual property and securities litigation. In addition, John takes assignments as a Special Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Prior to joining Adler Pollock and Sheehan, John served as a law clerk to Judge Edward F. Harrington of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and worked as an associate at Goodwin Procter LLP.
Significant Matters
- John helped to obtain a multi-million dollar settlement in a trademark infringement suit involving counterfeit consumer products.
- John briefed a successful motion to dismiss concerning class-action arbitration.
- John obtained dismissal for his client in an adverse action involving a property dispute before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Rhode Island.
- John obtained a favorable settlement for his client in a breach of contract action resulting in damages being reduced eight times from the original demand.
- John successfully argued an appeal to the Massachusetts Court of Appeals as a Special Assistant District Attorney.
- John has drafted appellate briefs in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
- John has experience in all aspects of discovery, including drafting motions, document review, document production and preparing for depositions.
