An attorney in the AP&S Boston Litigation Group focusing on toxic tort, insurance coverage, and product liability disputes, April Luna brings years of litigation experience to bear on behalf of her corporate clients and others.

Prior to joining AP&S as an associate in 2006, she worked as a contract attorney at the Boston law firm Goodwin Procter, working on intellectual property and market-timing cases.  Earlier, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Morris E. Lasker at the United States District Court in Boston, conducting legal research on habeas corpus, sentencing guidelines, employment discrimination, personal injury and immigration.

As a student at Northeastern University School of Law,  she served as a civil advocate for domestic violence victims at Dorchester District Court, and was able to utilize her spanish language skills in her work as a civil advocate.  She has also participated in the Domestic Violence Advocacy Project, and served as a victim-witness advocate and counseled women in the emergency room in a related Boston Medical  Center research project.

Significant Matters

  • In June 2007, she helped obtain a defense verdict, after a six-week trial, on behalf of client Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation in the first Massachusetts asbestos litigation case to go to verdict in a decade.
  • As part of an AP&S litigation team, she helped resolve an asbestos litigation case on behalf of client Holyoke Supply Company in November 2007.
