Colleen Nevin draws on deep litigation skills and experience—gained in part as a Chicago prosecutor, where she successfully argued cases before the Illinois Supreme Court and Appellate Court—to provide responsive, deft and passionate representation to her clients in complex commercial actions, including, contract and construction disputes, professional liability, products liability, and insurance defense, at both the trial and appellate court levels.
Previously she also worked at two large Chicago law firms—Clausen Miller, P.C. and Vedder Price Kaufman & Kammholz—handling a variety of complex litigation throughout the Midwest. As an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, she specialized in criminal and civil appeals.
While focused on getting the best results for her clients, she also provides them guidance to help avoid future disputes as part of her professional commitment to excellence in practice of the law. She also boasts a strong commitment to her community, volunteering her time and talents for a number of children’s charities.

- As a member of the trial team in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and on appeal before the First Circuit, Colleen successfully defended a publicly traded company in a lawsuit by a former employee who alleged misrepresentation with respect to stock options that had been valued at more than $8 million.
- When a prime subcontractor on a multi-million dollar high-rise construction project went out of business, potentially threatening the success of the project, Colleen successfully negotiated on behalf of the general contractor with the bonding company, subcontractors and the construction lender to keep the project on schedule and avoid protracted and costly litigation.
