Applications Specialist – Providence Office

Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. seeks an applications specialist to join its Information Technology Department in the firm’s Providence office.  Supported applications currently include but will not be limited to Windows Server 2008 and 2012, Windows 10, Office 2013, iManage DMS, SAN appliances, Mobile Device Management, Citrix, VMWare, SQL and all supporting services and servers.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Implement and maintain clients, servers and configuration for multiple applications.
  • Provide second-tier support to end users for applications.
  • Create and maintain software, processes and procedures.
  • Evaluate new products and tools as required.
  • Primary technical contact for third-party vendors as needed.
  • Manage assigned projects from inception to rollout.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in legal software/applications support; the ability to quickly learn how to implement and manage new applications, systems and related technologies; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and firm information.  Microsoft SCCM 2012 and VM experience preferred. Intellectual Property Administrative Specialist – Providence Office

Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. seeks an administrative specialist to join its Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm’s Providence office.  Primary responsibilities include drafting all types of patent-related documents and forms, as well as varied correspondence, responses, information disclosure statements, declarations, transmittal cover sheets, powers of attorney, and assignment documents, as well as documents required for  patent prosecution inside and outside the United States; receiving and acting upon client instructions, including confirmation and/or drafting responses to client inquiries related to U.S., PCT and foreign applications; monitoring and following up on dates associated with the U.S. and foreign docket, including clearing dates and providing follow-up with attorneys, clients and management in order to provide adequate time to respond; preparing payment of foreign patent annuities and U.S. patent maintenance fees; other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, special projects and back-up to team members including an IP docketing paralegal and IP secretary.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organized self-starter with 2-3 years prior experience in IP;possesses excellent attention to detail; strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; exceptional analytical thinking and problem solving skills; the ability to work independently and within a team environment and demonstrated proficiency in MS office applications.  Strong customer service orientation and oral and written communication skills are essential. Must have a thorough knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution procedures, especially statutory and filing deadlines and be proficient in industry standard patent docketing products including, but not limited to IPDAS. Paralegal – Providence Office
