Contested Estate

The son and daughter of our client—a 90-year-old woman with some $4 million in assets—were fighting for control of her property and her person.  To counter their efforts, we instituted legal proceedings to remove one child as trustee of her revocable trust and named as successor trustee an independent party of our client’s choosing.  In addition, we moved our client to an independent assisted-living facility, which was a much healthier environment for her.  Furthermore, we updated all her estate-planning documents and placed her property in a revocable trust to avoid probate court proceedings.
