Ethical Issues for Attorneys and Accountants
January 19, 2006AP&S and the accounting firm of Carlin, Charron & Rosen are sponsoring a joint Ethics Seminar on Thursday, January 19th at 7:30 a.m. at The Hope Club in Providence.
A panel of attorneys and accountants from both firms will lead the two hour seminar, "Ethical Issues for Attorneys and Accountants with Closely-Held Business Clients."
Several typical business situations will be reviewed and ethical rules pertaining to the case studies will be discussed. Some of the questions involved include:
- What restrictions govern representation adverse to a current or former client?
- What conflicts can be waived by the client?
- What obligations are owed to minority owners of the business?
- How are the rules governing attorneys and accountants similar and where are they different?
Two CPE and CLE credits will apply for those attending. A breakfast buffet will be served.
This seminar is designed for inhouse counsel, Chief Financial Officers or other inhouse accountants, corporate attorneys and CPA’s.
