Ethical Issues for Attorneys and Accountants

January 19, 2006

AP&S and the accounting firm of Carlin, Charron & Rosen are sponsoring a joint Ethics Seminar on Thursday, January 19th at 7:30 a.m. at The Hope Club in Providence.

A panel of attorneys and accountants from both firms will lead the two hour seminar, "Ethical Issues for Attorneys and Accountants with Closely-Held Business Clients."

Several typical business situations will be reviewed and ethical rules pertaining to the case studies will be discussed.  Some of the questions involved include:

  • What restrictions govern representation adverse to a current or former client?
  • What conflicts can be waived by the client?
  • What obligations are owed to minority owners of the business?
  • How are the rules governing attorneys and accountants similar and where are they different?

Two CPE and CLE credits will apply for those attending.  A breakfast buffet will be served.

This seminar is designed for inhouse counsel, Chief Financial Officers or other inhouse accountants, corporate attorneys and CPA’s.
