New England Super Lawyers Includes 15 AP&S Attorneys

The 2007 New England Super Lawyers has been released, and it includes an impressive showing from AP&S, with 15 attorneys making the list.  Eleven attorneys from the Providence office were included or 27% of the 41 attorneys from that office.  This was the first time that Rhode Island was included in New England Super Lawyers, and the list was released in the November issue of Rhode Island Monthly magazine. Named to the Top 10 List in Rhode Island was John Tarantino, who was the 2nd Top Vote Getter.  He was also listed in the Top 100 in New England.  

Super Lawyers magazine is published in all 50 states, with Rhode Island being the latest to be added to the nationwide publication.  The objective of the Super Lawyers selection process is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource to assist attorneys and sophisticated consumers in the search for legal counsel.

According to Law & Politics, the legal publisher who creates the Super Lawyers listing, only 5% of the total lawyers in Rhode Island are listed.  To be selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers, the publisher identifies qualified candidates through a system of nominations, peer evaluations and internal research, which included an examination of the background and experience of the candidates.  The candidates were ranked through a point system and divided among practice areas.  A blue-ribbon panel comprised of the highest ranked attorneys from each of the practice areas evaluated candidates from within those practice areas and only the highest point totals in each category were selected for the list.
