Bomster Receives Distinguished Alumni Award
June 2008John F. Bomster, resident attorney in the firm’s New Hampshire office, was one of three honored by the University of Bridgeport at the Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner held in early June. A member of the class of 1961, John graduated cum laude from the University and went on to the University of Connecticut Law School before setting out a law career with Adler Pollock & Sheehan’s Rhode Island office. A top litigator, he quickly moved ahead as chairman of the Litigation Department, on to the Executive Committee, and as chairman of the firm. After moving with his wife, Sonya, to New Hampshire, he volunteered his services to New Hampshire Legal Assistance as senior litigation advisor. He works on complex federal court class actions, on issues such as assuring the state provides dental care to Medicaid eligible children, and assuring state compliance with due process protection for seniors and special needs individuals. John’s work has resulted in successful resolutions for thousands of vulnerable New Hampshire children and adults. In 2006, the New Hampshire Bar Association recognized John with its Distinguished Service Award for "serving as the master architect of complex New Hampshire Legal Assistance litigation" and his many hours of pro bono work in his profession.
