AP&S Welcomes New Associates and Patent Agent

We are pleased to welcome Ali Khorsand, Joshua Parks, Paula Altman and Katherine Larson.

Ali Khorsand joins the Labor & Employment Group as civil litigator whose practice focuses on representing employers in employment-related disputes throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He has represented employers, government entities and individuals in age, gender, race, and disability discrimination suits in state and federal courts and administrative agencies in various jurisdictions. Ali received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Paula K. Altman joins the Corporate Department focusing her practice on corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate governance, corporate structuring and financing transactions. Prior to joining AP&S, she served as in-house counsel to a private equity firm and its portfolio companies.  Paul received her J.D from Northeastern University School of Law, her B.A. from Oberlin College and her MBA from Emory University, Goizueta Business School.

Joshua S. Parks joins the firm’s Litigation Group assisting clients on a wide array of civil matters, including complex commercial litigation, personal injury, negligence and contractual disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Josh worked for a maritime commercial litigation boutique in New York City.  Josh received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane University Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Hobart College.

Katherine M. Larson has joined our Intellectual Property Group.  Katherine is a registered patent agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and assists on all aspects of patent prosecution other than litigation.  She works closely with inventors and product developers on issues related to a wide range of technology.  She received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is currently working on her Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering at Brown University.
