AP&S’s Administrative Law Group has a wealth of expertise in all aspects of legal issues in the health, financial services, insurance, land use and development, public utility and energy and telecommunications fields. The firm provides representation in regulated industries in addressing rates, tariffs, development and expansion, regulatory changes, enforcement and permitting issues.
The firm’s work in regulated areas includes numerous representations of industry associations, utilities and private entities before the applicable public bodies. AP&S frequently represents national and local entities before the Department of Health, the Department of Business Regulation, the Division of Taxation, the Department of Environmental Management, the Coastal Resource and Management Council, the Human Rights Commission, the Department of Labor, the Department of Education, the Health Services Council and the Rhode Island Public Utilities Commission on such issues as pricing, facility assignments, fair regulation practices and siting. AP&S attorneys also have extensive experience in the drafting and interpretation of statutes and regulations promulgated by boards, commissions and agencies.
