Julyssa Tavares is a member of the firm’s litigation group; her practice includes defending both individuals and businesses in a wide variety of matters including products liability and toxic torts.
Prior to joining Adler Pollock & Sheehan, Julyssa served as a law clerk for the Rhode Island Supreme Court Law Clerk Department, where she clerked for the Honorable Richard A. Licht on the Out County Business Calendar.
Julyssa graduated magna cum laude from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2023. While in law school, she was a Notes and Comments Editor for the Roger Williams University Law Review. Additionally, she served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Chief Justice Paul A. Suttell of the Rhode Island Supreme Court and a summer intern for the Honorable William E. Smith in the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. Upon graduation, Julyssa received the Clinical Legal Education Association Outstanding Externship Student Award for excellence in externship fieldwork at the Victim Rights Law Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing civil legal aid, and for exceptionally thoughtful, self-reflective participation in an accompanying externship seminar.
