DEI Under Assault – Navigating the Issues
In recent months, after a series of executive orders and EEOC actions taking aim at diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs, many organizations, institutions and employers have responded by scaling back efforts designed to proactively prevent discrimination, expand opportunity and support respectful and inclusive culture. This one-hour program will provide a comprehensive synopsis of the current legal framework surrounding DEI initiatives. The panel will discuss Students for Fair Admission v. Harvard, Titles VI and VIIof the Civil Rights Act of 1964, recent executive orders and EEOC technical assistance targeting DEI, and related national litigation. Participants will learn how to assess the exposure of risk, from multiple dimensions, to maintaining or rolling back different DEI initiatives.
