In recognition of outstanding efforts in support for equal justice, AP&S was honored with the 2019 Equal Justice Award presented by RI Legal Services and Victoria Almeida was honored with the 2019 Judge Walter R. Stone Award.
Vicky has been a tireless advocate for equal justice as President of the Rhode Island Bar Association, and more recently as Chair of the Board of Directors of Rhode Island Legal Services. Vicky’s inspirational leadership and tireless efforts to ensure equal access to the law have made the difference for thousands of low-income Rhode Islanders to receive much needed legal assistance.
Vicky stated “It was an honor to accept the award named for Judge Stone, my former colleague and friend at Adler Pollock & Sheehan, not only for his many accomplishments, but for his unique ability to make others better.”
Robert Brooks, Managing Partner, accepted the award on behalf of the firm. “We are honored to receive this award in recognition of the many contributions that Adler Pollock & Sheehan and its attorneys have made to the charities in our community and for its support of the mission of the Rhode Island Legal Services.”
The 2019 awards were presented at RI Legal Service’s Equal Justice dinner on Thursday, June 27, 2019.
