Nicole J. Benjamin
Nicole’s practice encompasses a broad range of civil cases in federal and state court with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation. She also handles a wide variety of appellate matters utilizing her previous experience as lead law clerk to the Honorable Frank J. Williams during his tenure as Chief Justice of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. She is also the author of the blog Fast Five on Rhode Island Appellate Practice, which provides periodic updates on Rhode Island appellate law and pointers for practice before the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
Brian R. Birke
Brian’s practice includes cross-border disputes that involve intellectual property, with a particular focus on trade secret litigation; business transactions; fiduciary claims; non-competition claims; investor protection and activist shareholders; product liability; close corporation claims; wrongful termination and unfair and bad faith settlement practices. Mr. Birke received his J.D. from Northeastern University and his B.A. from the University of Rhode Island. Prior to joining AP&S he was a public affairs counselor for multinational corporations and foreign governments.
Rory Z. Fazendeiro
Rory has a diverse real estate and business law practice focusing on real estate and corporate transactional matters and litigation, construction, commercial lending and a full range of property-related and commercial contract matters. Rory also has extensive experience serving as outside general counsel to corporate clients on employment matters and general risk management, and for many years has represented and advised professional and amateur sports clubs and athletes. He received his J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law, his M.Ed., from East Stroudsburg University and his B.A. from Hobart College.
John D. Russell
John’s varied practice includes representing a wide-range of clients in corporate and business law matters, commercial real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, commercial public finance, tax law, private equity and land use and zoning issues. John received his L.L.M. in tax law from Boston University School of Law, his J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law and his B.A. from Gettysburg College.
Lori Caron Silveira
Lori represents corporate and governmental clients in defending employment disputes, including sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation claims, wage and hour matters, and termination of employment cases. She also represents employers in labor relation matters, including collective bargaining, arbitration of grievances and “interest” arbitration to determine terms and conditions of employment, and unfair labor practice proceedings. She also often handles labor and employment litigation in both state and federal courts in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Lori received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1983. Prior to joining Adler Pollock & Sheehan, Lori was a partner at Tillinghast Licht.
Kyle specializes litigates and resolves a wide range of commercial disputes, including disputes between competing businesses implicating non-competition provisions and trade secret law, as well as complex tort cases. Prior to joining AP&S Kyle was a law clerk for Chief Justice Frank J. Williams of the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
