Victoria M. Almeida, Senior Counsel at Alder Pollock & Sheehan, P.C., was re-elected Chair of the Board of Directors of Rhode Island Legal Services (RILS). The mission of RILS is to improve the economic and human condition of low income individuals and families, the elderly, victims of domestic violence, stabilize the family unit and promote self-reliance for its clients. In reaching out to those groups with added burdens on their access to the legal system, RILS works to afford dignity to all people in need of justice. Ms. Almeida, Past President of the RI Bar Association, is Vice President of the RI Bar Foundation, Chair of the RI Health Services Council, and Vice Chair of the RI Parole Board. She is a recipient of the Neil J Houston Award presented by Justice Assistance for her dedicated service and contribution to the criminal justice profession and the public interest.
