Camp JORI Celebrates Centennial

Camp JORI, formerly the Jewish Children’s Home of Rhode Island and the Jewish Orphanage of Rhode Island, celebrated its 100th anniversary on May 31, 2009. Founded as an orphanage in 1909, the organization continues today as a children’s overnight camp. Raising over $200,000 in scholarship money this year, the camp provides a first-class overnight Jewish camping experience for all children who desire to attend, regardless of financial circumstances. Robert Stolzman, a partner at Adler Pollock & Sheehan is the President of the Board of Directors of Camp JORI, as was the founding partner, Walter Adler, over 50 years ago. The tradition of Adler Pollock & Sheehan Jewish Community leadership continues at Camp JORI.
