The article examines how the U.S. Department of Justice is expanding its use of artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics to identify potential Medicare and Medicaid fraud, leading to increased audits and enforcement actions across the country.
Drawing on her experience representing health care providers, Leslie emphasized the importance of proactive compliance and thorough documentation in today’s regulatory environment. “Providers who can substantiate their claims and show a functioning compliance process are well positioned to respond to audits and keep any disputes from escalating into an enforcement matter.”
