A law review article co-authored by Nicole J. Dulude on the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act has been accepted for publication in the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. The article, which is slated for publication in the Winter 2010 edition, identifies a significant gap in the Act’s coverage and argues that the time is ripe for Congress to firmly define the class of workers that qualifies for benefits under the Act.
The article was inspired by the 2006 Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition, which highlighted the Act’s lack of clarity and the impact that lack of clarity has had on men and women laboring on the nation’s shoreside. Nicole Dulude, a quarterfinalist in the national competition, was awarded Best Petitioner’s Brief Runner-Up and Fifth Best Oralist Overall.
The article is Nicole Dulude’s third published law review.
