Litigation Academy: The Art of Direct and Cross-Examination

3:15pm – 4:30pm

Dan will be co-presenting this program which will focus on the art of effective direct and cross-examination skills.  Actual direct and cross-examinations of a fact witness will be critiqued by judges, experienced trial counsel, and a professional actor.  Learn how to be a more effective trial lawyer. The panel will also address the ethics of direct and cross-examinations of fact witnesses.

Introduction to Federal Civil Practice

10:45am – 12:00pm

Nicole will be moderating the panel and Lucas will be co-presenting with other panel members to provide a comprehensive introduction to civil practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.  This session guides participants through the lifecycle of a civil case in federal court, covering procedural requirements, including local rules, discovery management strategies, and case resolution approaches.  The session also highlights key distinctions between practice in Rhode Island Superior Court and federal court, equipping attorneys new to federal practice with practical insights into federal litigation.
