AP&S Cases Named in Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly as Most Important Opinions of 2014

Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly named 2 of the decisions that Geoff Millsom, Richard Beretta and Brenna Force won on behalf of their client among the “Most Important Opinions of 2014.” Both decisions arose out of the case Providence Piers LLC v SMM New England Corp. The first decision held that plaintiff had inexcusably failed to comply with the Rule 26 expert disclosure obligations, and ordered plaintiff to supplement its expert reports and pay the fees and costs incurred by Adler Pollock & Sheehan’s client in responding to the amended expert report. The second decision held that work product protection does not apply to an insurance company’s claim investigation materials generated in the ordinary course of its business.
