Adler Pollock & Sheehan is pleased to congratulate our clients on the closing of The Centurion Foundation’s acquisition of Prospect CharterCARE, LLC, including Roger Williams Medical Center and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital from Prospect Medical Holdings — a transaction years in the making that will return two of Rhode Island’s critical safety-net hospitals to local, nonprofit ownership under CharterCARE Health of Rhode Island.
AP&S served as regulatory counsel to all parties, guiding the transaction through a complex approval process that included review under the Hospital Conversions Act and Change in Effective Control review, among other requirements, before the Rhode Island Department of Health and the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General. The team included Pat Rocha, Richard Beretta, Leslie Parker, and Patrick Sampson.
