Geoffrey Millsom, a partner in the Litigation Group, has been appointed by Providence Mayor David Cicilline to the Board of the Providence/Cranston Workforce Investment Board. The Workforce Investment Act was created by legislation in 2000. The board is charged with the planning and oversight of employment and training programs authorized under the Workforce Investment Act.
The board is comprised of representatives from the business community, education, labor organizations, community-based organizations, economic development entities and partners that make up netWORKri, the one-stop career center.
Mr. Millsom’s term on the Workforce Investment Board will expire in 2008.
