Geoff Millsom Wins Summary Judgment

Geoff Millsom won summary judgment in an employment discrimination case on behalf of a client that owns several local automobile dealerships. The plaintiff was a 72-year-old woman who alleged that her termination of her employment resulted from age and disability discrimination in violation of the Rhode Island Fair Employment Practices Act. She also alleged that her termination was in retaliation for exercising her rights under the Rhode Island Parental & Family Medical Leave Act. In its decision the Superior Court ruled that Plaintiff had failed to introduce sufficient evidence to proceed to trial on her claims and that our client was entitled to judgment as a matter of law.
