Susan was elected Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Quonset Development Corporation on October 19, 2021. Susan was appointed to the Board of Directors on February 4, 2016, by former Governor Gina Raimondo. Her term as vice chair will end on December 31, 2023.
The Quonset Development Corporation (QDC) is a quasi-state agency, established as a special purpose subsidiary of the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation (formerly the RI Economic Development Corporation). QDC, which is responsible for the development and management of the Quonset Business Park, one of the premiere business parks in New England. The Quonset Business Park is home to almost 200 companies, employing more than 12,000 people in full-and part-time jobs across a variety of industries. The Port of Davisville at Quonset is one of the top ten auto importers in North America. QDC is also charged with the implementation and administration of the new Rhode Island Ready Program. The Program will provide technical assistance and funding to activate industrial sites throughout the State of Rhode Island for manufacturing, assembly, distribution, and other job-producing commercial activities with the purpose of creating employment opportunities, generating tax revenue, and stimulating private investment.
