Victoria M. Almeida, an attorney and partner in the Litigation and Health Care Practice groups, has been re-elected Vice Chairperson of the Rhode Island Health Services Council. A member on the Council since 1997, Attorney Almeida has served as Vice Chair since 2004 and previously as Secretary of the Council.
The Rhode Island Health Services Council serves as the advisory board to Dr. David R. Gifford, Director, the Rhode Island Department of Health. Its role is to review applications involving new health care equipment, new institutional health services, and the licensing of health care facilities including hospitals, nursing homes, freestanding emergency rooms and home health care agencies, and to make recommendations to Dr. Gifford for either approval or denial of such applications.
