Victoria M. Almeida Named Chairperson of the R.I. Health Services Council

Victoria M. Almeida was named Chairperson of the R.I. Health Services Council.  The R.I. Health Services Council is a powerful advisory board to the Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health and decides all matters pertaining to hospital expansions, new equipment for hospitals and ambulatory centers, as well as the regulation and licensure of nursing homes and assisted living facilities.  Miss. Almeida recently chaired the subcommittee that approved the $18 million dollar addition to Butler Hospital, increasing its total bed capacity to 143 beds.  This was an eight month process.   Miss Almeida is a shareholder in the law firm of Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C. and is Co-Chair of its Government Relations and Higher Education Practice Groups. She is Immediate Past President of the RI Bar Association and first recipient of the Victoria M. Almeida Servant Leader Award named in her honor.
