Patricia Rocha was appointed by Governor Carcieri on May 12, 2009, to be a member of the Rhode Island Supreme Court’s Commission on Judicial Tenure and Discipline. This appointment was confirmed by the Senate in July. The Commission was created in 1974 to provide a forum for complaints against any judge or magistrate of the Supreme, Superior, Family, District, and Workers’ Compensation Courts, or the Traffic Tribunal. The fifteen-member commission represents a cross-section of the population, and all appointments are for three-year terms.
